LaBeef, Sleepy - Tomorrow Never Comes
Tomorrow Never Comes by Country/Rockabilly legend Sleepy LaBeef is hot off the presses. This is his first studio recording in over four years. Tomorrow Never Comes is a genuine portrait of Americana music. Songs include Too Much Monkey Business, Wipeout, The Blues Come Around & , Detour. Maria Muldaur duets with Sleepy on two tracks; Will The Circle Be Unbroken & Raining In My Heart. All songs were tracked in Nashville earlier this year.
Sleepy LaBeef was born in Smackover Arkansas 64 years ago and made a name for himself in Houston, Texas coming up with future legends George Jones and Roy Orbison. There, they would open shows for Elvis Presley. He also has played shows with Buddy Holly, Gene Vincent, Fats Domino and Chuck Berry. Today, Sleepy LaBeef plays over 200 hundred shows a year to his dedicated following around the world. His expansive American Roots repitoire contains over 6,000 songs from country -western, blues, gospel and rockabilly!
On May 6 at this years AFIM Awards in Cleveland, Sleepy LaBeef previewed his new CD and received a standing ovation for his electrifying set of music. He will appear on the syndicated radio show American Routes (150 affiliates coast-to-coast) for broadcast in September of 2000, a live radio concert for Western Beat for broadcast on August 14 and This Week in Americana (over 50 affiliates) on August 19 & 20. Also, an interview has been scheduled for Rolligstone.com in August. More syndicated radio & T.V. appearances will be announced shortly. Radio promotion will be handled by award winning Americana radio person, Leslie Rouffe. Sleepy LaBeef has appeared on The Conan O'Brien Show, Mountain Stage and Austin City Limits.
