Tom Russells arkiver
Datum: 2012-09-04
»Heart on a Sleeve« har vært gjennstand for remastring og inneholder seks bonuskutt.
Her er Village Records tekster knyttet til begge utgivelsen og CDenes innehold;
»Heart on a Sleeve«
This new reissue officially kicks off a series of Tom Russell releases that have been out of print for years with the rights having reverted back to the artist himself. We couldn’t be happier. And you will be too.
This was his first proper album as a solo artist and was pressed in limited quantities on vinyl. Recorded with his legendary band this set all but ushered in the Americana scene in 1984. For years the original CD was a pricey import, and a later reissue had less than stellar sound. Now thanks to a top to bottom remaster, and in some cases restoration, by studio wiz John Yuelkenbeck this set is ready for the big time. All previous issues should be ignored in favor of this newly remastered and expanded version.
Six additional bonus tracks are included, some featuring a then unknown Shawn Colvin. The bonus cuts are era appropriate and fit right in. Many of his signature songs are here in their first recorded form. Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus of music too.
This will only be available through us, or Tom if you catch him on the road.

Museum of Memories 1972-202»
Limited Edition: 10th Anniversary Reissue
Obsessive-compulsive Russell addicts Ed Becker and John Yuelkenbeck along with Village Records have compiled an amazing twenty-track, limited edition compilation celebrating Tom's first thirty-years in the music business (as not seen on CMT, CNN, VH-1 or DWTS). A full eighty minutes, all songs making their first appearance on CD. Only two of them, maybe three if you get picky, have ever been released at all, and finding those recordings is next to impossible. Even on eBay.
«Museum of Memories 1972-2002» starts with «Strung Out (Like The Tightest Wire On A Frozen Barbed Wire Fence), a 1972 single by Tom's early band, Mule Train. It ends with a new song from Tom's 2002 tour, »The Dogs Bark, But The Caravan Moves On.« And you won't believe the incredible stuff in between. Our current favorite is »Can't Keep No Liquor 'Round The House,« an unreleased gem from the Tom Russell Band days. Why twenty artists haven't covered this is one of the great mysteries of life. Live performances, studio outtakes, demos, rehearsals--and it's all wrapped up in specially designed, oversized one of a kind CD packaging.
This disc can not be sold in stores due to licensing considerations. Not sold at Amazon, not at CDBaby or anywhere else but through us. This one is just for the »real« fans. It's available on a limited basis exclusively through Village Records to help pay for the up keep on Tom's website, mailing list and future projects like this.
