Amerikanske Steve Cropper har satt sitt merke på den moderne musikkhistorien, aller mest som gitarist med Booker T & the MGs.

Nå slipper han en hyllestplate til doo wop-gruppa The 5 Royales, der han har med seg et navngjetent utvalg sangere.

»Dedicated« kommer på 429 Records 8.august.

I think we can safely assume that there is no house anywhere that loves music that doesn’t have something Cropper played on, produced, or wrote a song on. For this new recording he has invited some of his friends to do the vocal chores as he pays tribute to the doo wop pioneers, the 5 Royales. Those lending voice include Lucinda Williams, Buddy Miller, Bettye LeVette, Steve Winwood, Sharon Jones, Delbert McClinton, Dan Penn, B. B. King and more. Put simply: this is an amazing recording that hit’s the mark on every track.
