John Hiatts 21. album kommer 21.juni
Datum: 2005-05-20

Hiatt bidrar også med en Doug Sahm -tolkning (»I´m not that Kat (anymore)«) på Los Super 7´s fantastiske »Heard it on the X«.

Her er hva postordreselskapet Miles of Music skriver om den nye platen:

»Number this record 21 in the long line of reliable and satisfying releases from John Hiatt. A three-decade long career has seen him work alongside a wide variety of musicians. And for the Jim Dickenson produced Master Of Disaster, Hiatt enlists none other than Dickenson's own kin, Cody and Luther of the North Mississippi Allstars. Muscle Shoals session bassist David Hood and key man East Memphis Slim round out the rhythm section that tastefully flesh out this rootsy collection of songs which sport hints of Southern blues and Memphis soul. They never feel too far away from rocking out, though, as the straight ahead roots-rock of the opening track indicates. Although, it does remain reserved, mostly, with folksy originals like «Wintertime Blues» and album closer «Back On the Corner», which sound like John doing his best Taj Mahal. He puts a touch of the ol' honky-tonk in the lazy, but likable «Old School». And he pays tribute to the vehicular beauty and automotive grace of a Thunderbird in the song of the same name. A great album whose nature is befitting of its recording locale - Memphis' famed Ardent Studios.«
