Cowboy-Tom hele veien til helvete
Datum: 2010-04-06
One of the most requested out of print discs around here is Tom’s seminal album of cowboy songs, “Cowboy Real.” Imagine our excitement when he contacted us and told us he was working on a re-imagined, updated version of the recording. What we have here is remastered versions of eight selections from the original album, including the two duets with Ian Tyson, along with a generous nine additional new recordings of cowboy songs with new guitarist Thad Beckman. The additional songs are from various albums that fit the theme and are now recorded to fit the ambience of this recording. And to round it out there’s a brand new song called “The Heart Of A Bucking Horse.” This is easily his definitive cowboy recording. This is a self release that will only be available through us or him if you catch him live while supplies last.
P.S. Tom was too shy to share this quote, but we're not. Don't tell him we used it:
« Joe Ely did a hell of a song tonight about a rooster, a Tom Russell song. It’s good…it’s called ‘Gallo del Cielo’…and I’m hard to impress. » Bob Dylan (« From Big Man, » by Clarence Clemmons and Don Reo)
