Son Volt leter videre på nytt album

Son Volt, frontet av ex-Uncle Tupelo Jay Farrar, slipper sitt femte studioalbum i mars. »The Search« kommer, i likhet med forgjengeren »Okemah and the Melody of Riot«, ut på Transmit Sound/ Legacy. Den nye plata er produsert av Farrar og sangeren/ låtskriveren lover at bandet, som platetittelen antyder, eksperimenter i flere retninger.

Shannon McNally bidrar med harmonier på sangen »Highways and Cigarettes«.

Farrar sier følgende til Billboard;

»Literally, the approach to this record was a search, seeking different instrumentation and the way it sounded. Oftentimes, I think the process is about the search rather than the find.«

»This whole result comes from the fact that the band was playing a lot together. It wasn't so much of a challenge to expand our whole sound. It was actually very liberating.«
