Glamour Puss - Wire & Wood

The 5-piece New Brunswick-based roots/blues/rock/Zydeco powerhouse has been wowing audiences for over 8 years with their driving beat, high-energy showmanship, and superb songwriting. Glamourpuss has toured extensively throughout Canada and Europe - averaging about 150 shows per year.

The latest CD from Glamourpuss, 'Wire & Wood' has now found a home at NorthernBlues Music. 'Wire & Wood' has sincere and telling songwriting combined with some incredible guitar playing from Travis, soulful keyboard and vocals from Roger, some of the best sax lines you'll ever hear from Don, and a kick-ass rhythm section with Paul and Ron. As NorthernBlues President Fred Litwin says, »this record will turn a lot of heads, it certainly turned mine.«

After spending much of the past year in the studio, Glamourpuss is very excited about their first NorthernBlues release which is also their fourth CD to date. 'Wire & Wood' was produced by Michael Jerome Browne, who is also known as one of the best acoustic musicians in Canada (Michael also contributes some wicked guitar on the CD as well). The CD's 15 cuts are alive and fresh with 13 tracks penned by guitarist Travis Furlong and keyboardist Roger Cormier, one instrumental penned by sax player and vocalist Don Rodgers, and a cover of John Lee Hooker's 'Boom Boom'.

Previous releases include three East Coast Music Award-winning Cds: 'Electric and Alive', featuring the band's incredible performance at the Fredericton Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival; the March 1999 'Blues du Jour' ; and their debut CD from 1997, 'The Glamourpuss Blues Band.'

Impressive and meaningful songwriting, world-class musicianship, and electrifying showmanship put Glamourpuss at the top of the game. Not just in Canada, but on the world stage!
