Phillip Walker cranked up his big band that features horns and keyboard. How hot is his band? Some of the guys have performed with Ray Charles and Louis Jordan. Also on the recording are Phillip's long time friends, harmonica aces Charlie Musswelwhiteand Rick Estrin (Little Charlie & The Nightcats) as well as Texas blues belter, A ngela Strehli. M.C. Louisiana born, Texas raised, guitarist Phillip Walker first big gig came in 1953 when at the age of 16 he was hired by Zydeco king Clifton Chenier, a post he held for three-and-a-half years. Phillip replaced Jimi Hendrix in Little Richard's band, backed up R&B greats Etta James and Lowell Fulsom as well as recorded with legendary songwriter Percy Mayfield. Phillip has recorded for Playboy, Hightone, Black Top and Alligator to name a few. Robert Cray had a hit with one of Phillip's songs »Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark.«
