Rabson, Ann - Struttin My Stuff

Proud to be a life long blues fan, Ann Rabson, at age four, was first exposed to the blues by her father while living in Ohio. As with many musicians, Ann's first instrument was the guitar where she developed her own unique finger picking style. It was not until Ann was 35 years old she decided to learn to play the piano. Today Ann Rabson is best known for her hard playing boogie-woogie and barrelhouse piano playing. Ann's tasteful use of musical dynamics allows her to effortlessly infuse emotion, sensitivity, energy, and passion into every composition whether on vocals, guitar, or piano.
Ann is a six-time Handy Award nominee, three times for Female Traditional Blues Artist (with a recent 2000 nomination), Acoustic Album and Traditional Blues Album for her 1997 Alligator Records release, »Music Makin Mama«, and Blues Song of the year for her composition, Elevator Man.
Ann maintains a heavy touring scheduled dividing each month between her active solo performances and those of Saffire - the Uppity Blues Women who she co-founded in the mid-80's. When not touring, Ann resides in Virginia with her husband, George.
