Hubbard, Freddie - Fastball: Live At The Left Bank

Baltimore’s Left Bank Jazz Society is one of the most enduring jazz organizations in this country’s history. Beginning in the 1960s, and extending through the present day, Left Bank regularly hosts concert performances by jazz’s greatest artists. Freddie Hubbard: Fastball documents just such an occasion. Recorded in 1967 at The Famous Ballroom in Baltimore, MD, Hubbard is captured with his working quartet of the period that features Bernie Maupin on tenor saxophone, Kenny Barron on piano, Herbie Lewis on bass and Freddie Waits on drums. The group delivers riveting performances that brilliantly frame Hubbard’s trumpet mastery on standout cuts such as “Pensativa,» “Crisis« and “Willow Weep For Me.” And the audience responds in kind with ecstatic fervor. Freddie Hubbard Fastball is a must have for jazz fans, and an invaluable treasure for Hubbard fanatics.
