Silos, The
Hasta La Victoria
(Watermelon)
Pris: 69 SEK
One of the pioneering bands of the early alternative country scene, the Silos were the brainchild of vocalist, songwriter, and bandleader Walter Salas-Humara, who was born in Florida to parents who were exiled from Cuba. The 1993 released “Hasta La Victoria” finds Salas-Humara in excellent form. His songwriting skills show off in desert rock classics like “Nobody But You” or “Henrietta”, haunting ballads like “Your Last Life” and “Try Tomorrow” plus the occasional Cuban-tinged tracks. Now located in Austin, TX, the Silos’ “Hasta La Victoria” was recorded with the help of some of the best players around, such as John Dee Graham, Tom Freund, Victoria Williams, Kenny Margolis of Cracker and many more.
