Songwriters Hall of Fame 2016 inductee Chip Taylor has been writing and performing for nearly 60 years and shows no sign of slowing down. The New York Times says it best, “If you only know him as the as the guy who wrote ‘Wild Thing’ and ‘Angel of the Morning’ — you don’t know him! Chip Taylor is making some of the most distinctive acoustic music around today.” With the release of A Song I Can Live With, Taylor continues to come up with timeless, thought-provoking music.
Last year’s critically acclaimed Little Brothers was the perfect charming soundtrack for a sunny morning and now A Song I Can Live With is its late night companion - another intimate album, but quiet and reflective - designed for listening while sitting on your couch sipping whiskey.
As with The Little Prayers Trilogy (Mojo called it “a masterpiece“, while Uncut said it was the ”Crowning glory of a storied career” and placed it on its Best of 2015 list), the new album was co-produced by Goran Grini and features master guitarist John Platania (Van Morrison) as well as Greg Leisz’s pedal steel guitar on the title track.
Last year, Taylor reunited with Carrie Rodriguez for a sold-out tour through North America. Their video for a new song, ‘Who’s Gonna Build That Wall’, was just released ahead of the elections. 2017 will see Taylor going out on his own again in the United States and Europe.
